Greg and I had the joy of having many of our family members visit us last weekend. It was sooooo much fun! Kim and Nicole, my wonderful step-sisters traveled from Allen (near Dallas) and brought with them Taylor Kate and Brenden for the weekend. It was such a treasure to see all of them and be able to host them in our place. (We even had enough beds for everyone!) My mom and stepdad stopped by as well, and we happily dog-sat their King Charles spaniel, Duke, while they had an adventure in Chappel Hill.
Greg and I once again decided that we are blessed to have this time in our lives with no children :-) We have so much freedom now to be lazy and sleep and have command of our schedules. The moment everyone headed home we looked at each other and raced to the bed for a quick nap.
Really, though, it was a huge blessing to see our niece and nephew and fall in love with them all over again. They are so fun and were constantly amazing us with all the ways they have grown since we last saw them in December. Taylor has a knack for telling you imaginative and creative stories. She is also full of laughter and joy pretty much ALL the time. She is a wonderful reminder to me to live life to the fullest. Brenden wowed us with his stair climbing ability and charmed us with his trusting reaches for Greg all weekend long. He looks like he is going to be a cuddler!
On top of that, we got some really great hang out time with Nicole and Kim. This included a late night run to the store and Shake's for some yummies for the adults. It was so nice to kick back and enjoy having them around to talk to and to ask advice from them about many things.
Here a few pics from the weekend!
