I have to admit that I LOVE having Labor Day off. After 4 years of going to ultra-conservative A&M where they don't think this is a holiday, I proudly claim my rank in the labor force and enjoy this holiday. Poor Greg is still at the mercy of the Aggie schedule.
It's been a busy but nice day off so far. I've had tons of errands, and that is part of what you do on a day off when you have no other days to accomplish these things. We've had our 2001 CR-V for a year and a half now, and we drove away from the dealership with a squeaking problem whenever we had to do a u-turn (practice everything when you are taking a test-drive!) So I finally took it to a car shop to get the differential fluid replaced. Then it was off to Quicker Sticker for the annual car inspection. Seriously, when else would I have gotten these things done? Then to Target and H-E-B for the things we forgot to get at the grocery yesterday.
The best part of the day for me has been not talking to anyone. I am an introvert at heart even when I want to think that I am not. I absolutely love people and cherish long conversations with friends, but I do get tired from talking and listening! It has been a long time since I had a day all to myself to travel around town and sit at home and not have to open my mouth. Bliss! Hopefully this will re-charge my batteries for a jam-packed fall semester.
Now off to re-organizing the house and cleaning up the clutter- another wonderful Labor Day activity!
