Lions and Tigers and COUGARS, oh my!

One of the perks about living in the country is pulling into the driveway at night and seeing bunny rabbits scamper across to the other side. These little furry creatures are so adorable and they have decided to make our yard home sometimes. They are very friendly and let you get fairly close to them if its during the day.

One of the NOT perks to country life is getting an email from your neighbor warning that they saw a COUGAR crossing the road while they were taking a walk this morning!! I love getting to take walks in this neighborhood and Buddy does, too. So its not very encouraging to hear that even in daylight, this large creature is not afraid to come out of the woods and cross the road.

I'd have a hard time being too worried about it, but just this morning (before I got the email), I was showing Greg these big divets (sp?) we have all over our front yard. You know what it looks like when you aerate a field and there are all those little holes? Well these are like 3-5 times that size. Almost like the animal that put them there was aggressive at the time. I saw them out by the mailbox this morning but a couple weeks ago I saw them in the flower bed right by our front door!

So if you come for a party at the Paul's, be sure to keep your eye out for the neighborhood prowler! ;-)

  1. Aw, come on, hasn't Buddy been wanting a new friend to play with?
