Only 12 more days until The Closer starts on TNT! This is the one show that I am totally crazy about. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it. The star is Kyra Sedgewick who plays Deputy Chief Brenda Lee Johnson. The funniest part of the show for me is that I am SOOO similar to her. Greg and I crack up when we see her doing things and realize that if I were totally free to be me with no restraints, I'd probably end up a lot like her.
Brenda is the go-to person at the office- totally in charge and she never takes no for an answer. Her work is impeccable and she is crisp and insightful in her approaches to situations (this is the me I would like to be and sometimes imagine in my head :-) ). But in her personal life she is a complete klutz. She can't seem to get the car insurance set up on time, she loses her keys and glasses frequently, her coffee cup stays on top of her car as she backs out of a parking spot. In comes Fritz, her patient boyfriend, to keep her sane and to clean up her messes- but also to challenge her to take care of herself and her personal responsibilities.
I just love the character development the writers have made for her and for all of the characters that make up the investigation team. You can picture yourself being a part of the group and helping them solve the crime. There is tons of humor that keeps it light but you also find yourself (like they advertise) on the edge of your seat to see if they can get a confession out of someone to get closure to the tragedy at hand.
