Christ is Risen!

I remember today that our Lord conquered sin through His death on the cross. He bore my punishment from a just and holy God and suffered unimaginable pain (both physically and spiritually) during that dark and evil day and the 3 days after. But just as He said He would, Jesus Christ rose from the dead, having suffered the cross and born it's shame, and now He sits at the right hand of the Father. He rose that we might each have life! That every day we can live free from the bondage of sin and able to approach Him by His blood. It is truly overwhelming to swallow the fact that He took my place and even to think that He made a way for me to spend eternity with Him. His passion for us, His bride, is beautiful and His sacrifice the greatest testament to love we will ever encounter. For a day there was weeping, but joy comes with the morning.

As I read back through what I just wrote, I realize that it sounds like a fairy tale. Like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty. But it's not just a story. It really happened and Jesus still makes Himself known today. He heals hearts when they are broken and He heals diseases when we pray in faith. He still intercedes for us to the Father when we are caught in sin. He sent us the Holy Spirit that those of us who believe in Him will have a way to understand His teachings better and that we can remember the ways He has shown Himself to us. I can't imagine life without Jesus.
