Yesterday I got home from work, and Greg had a huge smile on his face and said, "I'm taking you on a date tonight!" (Sweet bliss!) I hadn't heard those words for a while with the grind of grad school coming to an end this semester. It felt strangely rebellious to go to dinner and a movie on a Tuesday night. We went to Pei Wei for dinner and then saw the movie Up! Once again, Pixar has outdone themselves. It was precious, wildly creative, and emotionally moving. We decided it's another Pixar that was probably made more for the adults than for the children, but I am sure children would still love it. This is one movie I'd definitely recommend seeing in the movie theater. The 3-D effects are amazing and you can keep the glasses for the future Pixar movies that will be coming out in 3-D (like Toy Story 3 next summer!) All in all, a super great date night. We even decided to pull the guest mattress out into the living room so that I could fall asleep watching the end of the basketball game and not have to get up again. I'm taking in all the TV I can before we don't sign up for cable in PA. I'm sure if we try Netflix and Hulu that I will like them, but I will definitely miss my sports games and being able to TiVo shows throughout the week. To everything there is a season, and this new season will give us more time away from the tube so that we can meet people more and get to know the town.
What fun date nights have you had lately?

Andy and I just celebrated our one-year anniversary of dating! We went to a seafood restaurant which totally rocked! We also love hiking and exploring new places, so those are always great dates and fun way to spend the limited amount of time together we have right now!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun night! That was really sweet of Greg to surprise you with a date night! Michael and I love the dinner & movie date too. And for even more fun, we sometimes take the dogs on a long walk or to the park and just sit and talk - very fun quality time for me!
