So many fun things!

I keep having so many things to post about and time always gets away from me before I can get them on here one by one. So I will just post a quick blurb about the past few days.

CHARLOTTE TRIP
The trip to Charlotte was so fun! I wish I could have known at the time that I booked my tickets whether or not I would be employed yet. I found myself wanting to stay an extra day, but alas I'd only booked Saturday morning to Sunday night. Here are some pics from the party and from the cabin in the mountains (gorgeous views!!)

Aunt Sue and George pose for the 60th birthday picture. They don't look like they could possibly have reached that milestone!!This sweet family is a bluegrass band. They are really good! You can't see him, but the dad is the guitarist on the right.Picture of Mom, me and Lauren at the party. I was sooo tired, but it was fun to meet people and be with family. This is the right side of the cabin, and I love what they've done here. There is a screened in porch on the first floor. Then you walk up the staircase to get to pergola which will be open air to catch the cross breezes. Check out the view they will have!George giving me a smile from the back deck.Mom, me and Aunt Sue in the bright sun at the corner of the cabin. It was warm and breezy on Sunday! The breathtaking view. Can you see that the clouds are resting on top of the hills? I love God's beautiful workmanship. Love, love, love it!!

MY MONDAY SURPRISE
I woke up on Monday to a leisurely morning of clipping coupons and walking Buddy. Mid-morning my doorbell rang, and I was pleasantly surprised to get this:

:-) I love my man! He blessed me with this beautiful bouquet of roses that I am gushing over. It had been awhile since I'd gotten flowers, so it made the surprise that much sweeter. And also since it was a "just because" moment. No job offer, no marathon...just because. Totally made my day!!

Later that day, my friend Dana and I went shopping to find her some fabric and frames to do wall art. Isn't that a great idea? Usually fabric isn't too expensive. You can pick out a funky pattern, cut it to size, stable it around a canvas, and put it in a frame. Well...we went to the Rodeo Drive of fabric stores, I guess, because everything there was waaaay too expensive. But on the way to the store, we had seen a Kirkland's and decided we had to stop and see what they had. I lucked out! I wasn't planning on buying anything, but I stumbled on a framed piece that was normally priced at 50 and was marked down to 15! I love it. It matches our breakfast table, which means the aliens in the desert (as I like to call it) piece of art that Greg had before we got married gets to go in another, less prominent room. :-) The other thing I love about this piece is that it has scripture from John 15 on it. Our pastor's sermon last week was sharing his vision for the ministry of the congregation this next year. He called it "Fruit, more fruit, much fruit". So for $15, I get a visual reminder at my table of the vision that God has called my church to this year. This piece was meant for me. :-)
ALLERGY TESTING
I finally got to see my new allergist today and get those horrible pin pricks done to determine my antigens for my new allergy shots. The good news? I showed up negative for trees and grasses!! I think that means that my shots in College Station successfully got me over my sensitivity to those. Whoop! The bad news? I am very very allergic to molds and this area has tons of mold. She said this year in particular is off the charts b/c its been so rainy during the spring and summer. I am also still allergic to dust mites, which means the indoors will still be an allergy culprit for me. The surprises? I came up allergic to cats! Who knew? That is a new development. I also came up slightly allergic to dogs and ragweed. Good thing Buddy is practically allergy free. I have never had a problem with him, but I have noticed a problem with other ones before. I also was sent over to the lab for blood work to test for the milk allergy. If it comes back negative, they will have me come back to the allergy clinic to test my tolerance. Wouldn't that be AWEsome if I no longer had that allergy?! I like the idea of testing it out in their office so that they can help me with a reaction if I still had one. She also seems very proactive about healing my eczema and using as few harmful drugs as possible to do it. Yay!

I think that's enough posting for today. Should find out if I have a job offer by the end of the week. Definitely hoping for it to come through. If not, though, I just saw 2 jobs with the construction company I like the best in town that I can apply for. So we'll see.
