Wednesday marks 16 weeks for Baby Paul. Wow!! It seems like only yesterday that I was 8 weeks along around Christmas and now the time has doubled. We still have a long way to go and much growing to do, but every day has been such a wonderful blessing.
A few new things:
Sleeping is not as easy anymore! I am supposed to sleep on my side and I am very much a tummy and back sleeper (I love to stretch out!) I have been padding each side with pillows the last week, but this may have to give way to a full on pregnancy pillow in the coming weeks.
I caved and got a Bella Band. Most of my pants still fit, but some of the cuter work clothes are on the smaller side in the waist area, and I really want to wear them for another few weeks. The Bella Band is really comfortable, but I don't know that it's that hidden. It makes a nice line under my shirt that they claimed it would not make. I'm sure once I have a belly to show for this thicker waste that I won't care about that anymore. :-)
My arms are falling asleep quite a bit at night and my legs threaten Charlie horses frequently. So I guess the pressure of a growing uterus is starting to affect things. And I think I've felt the first pangs of round ligament pain.
I *might* have felt our sweet baby's movements!!! As a first timer, I think I'll only be able to determine this in hindsight. It definitely feels like bubbles and rumbles and I usually feel it when I am sitting in the car or at my desk at work. Over the next month I should be able to tell if that was really baby or not. Pretty exciting!
Things I am excited about over the coming weeks:
Really knowing that I am feeling him/her move!
Being able to talk to him/her, sing to him/her, and play music. He/she should start being able to hear soon.
Finally getting a belly. Haha I might wish this away later, but I am ready to see that!
Putting on weight. I know that's weird, but try as I may to eat the house down, I am not gaining any weight. And I didn't throw up any the first trimester. It is kind of bothering me that I am supposed to have gained at least 3-5 lbs by now.
In four weeks, we'll go in for another u/s and will hopefully find out boy or girl! Counting the days!
Maybe next week I'll have changed enough for another new picture. But for now, nothing to report compared to the 14 week one on my FB profile.
