Surprise!

Easter weekend just happened to be the perfect time to pull a few surprises on my side of the family. For one thing, Granmama's 92nd birthday is a big excuse to celebrate, and all the girls decided we needed to see her on such an important occasion. Aunt Sue orchestrated getting Lauren, Lauren's bf Paul, Mom, and me onto staggered flights so that one by one we could surprise Granmama- and each other! Lauren and Paul's trip was planned and announced from the beginning, but Mom and I both surprised them and Granmama when we popped around the corner. And I wasn't expecting Mom!

We had an awesome weekend catching up, watching basketball (more on that in a minute), touring the beautiful cabin in the mountains that is only a couple months away from completion, and having a huge Easter lunch at Aunt Sue's best friend's house (think perfect Southern veggies). The weather was a comfortable and sunny 80 degrees, and I got to wear a t-shirt and flip flops for the first time in 6 months!

The ladies all decided it would be fun to shower Greg and me early with some adorable baby girl clothes!! I haven't taken pics of our collection yet, but I'll put those up soon. Lauren didn't know I was coming to Charlotte, so she mailed hers earlier in the week. I love this girl- she's got style and she's not afraid to go to the right stores to find the perfect thing. I can't wait to dress our daughter in the clothes that she found!! Granmama got to pick out the perfect "lovey" blanket for her that is a super soft white and has pale pink polka dots along the border. My niece and nephews have had the same kind of blanket and all loved it. I know it will become one of the favorites. And Mom and Aunt Sue stocked us full of cute dresses, sleep outfits, winter clothes, and matching hats for different times throughout the year. I know it'll take a lot of clothes to dress this girl, but they have helped us tremendously and have found some of the items that will be extra special along the way. We are so so so so thankful for the love and the help that has already been poured out - after only knowing for a week that she is a girl!

Oh and back to the basketball thing-- Greg and I entered 3 brackets. He did one at church with the small group guys. We both did my current workplace bracket. And I did my last year's office bracket. Greg won both of his entries and I *might* have won at my last year's office. Last I'd heard, I was in the lead, but it all changes so much after the Final Four. So we'll see!! Lauren won at her office, too. So yeah....I think our family likes basketball :-)

Here are some pics from the weekend!
