Day trip to Annapolis!

I had my last out of town adventure yesterday, and it was so much fun! 6 of the ladies from small group were able to take a day trip down to Annapolis to hang out by the bay, enjoy authentic seafood, take in the beautiful old architecture, and walk through the city's first annual arts and crafts festival. The festival could have been better, but it was neat to see vendors there with so many unique and beautiful pieces. We saw photography, oil paintings, pottery, jewelry, woodworking, metalworking, clothing, and glasswork. There was a stand with delicious flavored olive and grapeseed oils to sample. Everything was super expensive, so we didn't buy anything there, but it was still neat.

The bay area was beautiful and the weather was perfect. It was hot and sunny, but at least by the bay the breeze provided a nice respite. Tons of boats were out on the water, and we saw a few kayaks come in as well.

Lots of fun little coffee shops and seafood restaurants. There was also an adorable ladies consignment shop where a few of my friends found some great deals on clothing that totally fit each of their personalities. I don't think anyone expected to go clothing shopping on this trip, but as soon as everyone started casually thumbing through the racks, tons of things got pulled off and tried on. That was fun. I, unfortunately, am a whale at the moment and have no idea what size I will return to. So I resisted picking anything out. Soon though. :-) I hope. :-)

We walked a TON, which made my hands and feet swell and my joints loosen, but thankfully I didn't get any contractions from it. I think in the end that walking was just really good for me. I am a little sore in my back today, but nothing too bad.

I was so so blessed to have this time with these precious friends. Our small group is "birthing" at the end of the summer into 2 groups since we've gotten so big. Though I know it is the best thing for being able to develop the small groups effectively and to openly incorporate new people (like they did for us last year), it is still making me sad that I won't have consistent time with each of them. I guess that just means I will have to be more intentional once Emily comes along and I get my "routine" in place.

I just spend way too much time posting the pics onto Facebook, so I don't feel like creating a slideshow to post here. If you want to see pics, you can find the album on the left column of my FB page!
