On the Road

So we've made it to Alabama. Got on the road at 6am. We've traveled about 670 miles, through Louisiana, Mississippi, & halfway through Alabama. We also saw Cuba (Alabama), Eutaw (Mississippi), and Demopolis (which, honestly, sounds possessed). It's also been fascinating that we're driving through the heartland of the civil rights movement. We read about all of these events in books (like the murder of civil rights workers in Philadelphia, Miss., and the marches in Birmingham). But to actually be here in the area -- an altogether different experience. Will keep you updated! -- Greg
