Thursday

Today was filled with checking off to-do list activities. Greg got a temporary PA drivers license and I'll be getting that done in a couple weeks. We got auto and renters insurance set up. We visited Costco and loved it!! Much better prices :-) We got our membership card and stocked up on some necessities. We won't be able to do a ton of shopping there since we don't have much storage in our place, but I will be strategically plotting what to get over there.

After that we got the bad news that our stuff is once again not arriving until Monday. :-( I am none too pleased about that. Greg said I looked completely deflated for a couple hours after I got the call. I think the exhaustion started to hit today and the idea that I won't have a bed for another 4 nights just really stunk. BUT we have a roof over our head, an air mattress, food, family, and they are comping us $300 for the inconvenience. I am trying to look on the bright side of Wheaton Mover's utter incompetence.

We also went to El Serrano for dinner tonight. Yum!!! One of the few good Mexican food places in town. Greg made sure to get a dish with plenty of guacamole since it is practically a delicacy up here. Avocados are expensive and the menu said "Guacamole- Market Priced when in season." What?!? We got used to putting avocado on almost everything we ate. That will be an adjustment!

Mom comes tomorrow and we send Greg's Dad on his way. What a true blessing it is to have family helping us get settled in. I think Buddy is doing much better today. We've been able to leave him home alone for various stretches of time throughout the day and he seems ok each time we come back. He even started spontaneously playing with his gorilla tonight- a good sign that he feels calm. I'm sure the movers on Monday will throw everything off again, but for now we are rejoicing that he is at peace.
