A Foodie's Funland

So the Millersville Market was a lot smaller than Central Market in downtown Lancaster. But fun nonetheless. Lots of fresh produce, some homemade dog biscuits (sweet potatoes & molasses, chicken & rice, beef & broccoli, etc.), and some cookies that Libby could have that were really, really good. Gotta say, though, that beyond the huge peaches for 60 cents each, beyond the cookies, beyond the dog biscuits, my favorite was the heirloom tomato stand. (Yes, I know, I'm a foodie.) Anyway, they had green tomatoes, orange tomatoes, yellow tomatoes, and some of the biggest green bell peppers I've seen in a long time. So I couldn't pass up the green tomatoes (not because of the movie). Very delicious. It was kind of citrus-y w/ a bit of tartness. Made for a great BLT.

All that to say this place is like foodie paradise w/ all of the fresh produce. You really can tell the difference between what's in the supermarket and what's at the farmer's markets. That goes not only for fruits & vegetables but also for meats & cheeses. And the milk. Oh goodness, the milk. Yum. I have to say, though, that I'm missing good beef bbq. I can't wait to have me some good C&J's in a week!
