Wednesday's This and That

This is BIRTHDAY week for so many people I know and love! A big shout out to SUMMER MORGAN (Monday), SARAH HAMILL (Tuesday), CAEDMON KENNEDY (Thursday), MEGAN STEWART (Saturday), and UNCLE MICHAEL (Sunday)! I won't disclose ages, hehe, but I am so happy to celebrate another wonderful year in these lives.

This morning was a comedy of errors of sorts for us. Turns out getting state registrations in PA is NOT easy. One of the things they require is that you make a pencil tracing with tracing paper of the official VIN number on each car. Ha! Honda does not make these accessible for that sort of thing and even when you run your finger over it, there is not enough "topographical" change for a tracing to even work. So we had to go to the local Honda dealership this morning with printed photos of the VIN numbers from the cars and totally twist the mechanic's arm to sign off on the silly things. On top of that, we drove one car over there since we had the printed photos, and he made us drive back home to get the other car for him to look at in person. To make matters even more interesting, you can either get your registration done in Lancaster or Harrisburg (the official office). Lancaster charges you a whopping $100 convenience fee on top of the $117 registration fee (total for both cars) if you don't drive to Harrisburg! On zero paycheck this month, we thought it best to make the 45 minute commute to Harrisburg. Luckily that place was nothing like Harris County or the Lancaster Drivers License center in terms of wait time, so we were back on the road after about 20 minutes. We now have official PA license plates on our cars- WEIRD.

Tonight we are going to Market Night in Millersville with some new friends! Greg's new colleague (who is also just starting in the comm dept this fall) and his wife moved into our townhome complex just a few doors down. Needless to say, we are happy to find friendly faces quickly!! Market Night appears to be a small gathering of artists, crafts, musicians, and local produce vendors that meets in the parking lot of the main coffee shop in town. It is being put on every Wednesday night until October and has not been around for very long. We'll see if we like it! At least it is a great way to meet more Millersville Borough people.

Well, off to get ready!
