Valentine's Day!

As cheesy as the day can be, I am thankful for a day that is dedicated to reflecting on love and telling those that you love how much they mean to you. It is biblical to celebrate and uplift love- every day- and to have one day to set aside and focus on it is so helpful and fun.

Greg and I started out the day worshiping the Lord this morning and diving into His word. It was a very meaty time in scripture both in the church service and in Sunday School. We were refreshed and challenged in new ways! Then we made our way over to a quaint downtown restaurant called Carr's for a Valentine's brunch. It was much more cost effective to celebrate over brunch than over dinner :-) Greg got an omelette that looked to die for and I had a unique and delicious apple and bacon stew that was cooked in a cider glaze with white and sweet potatoes and topped with scrambled eggs. After that, we decided to use the rest of a Starbuck's gift card for dessert. Today has changed the rest of my winter days (watch out wallet!)... I decided to ask if their chocolate syrup was milk free in hopes that I could get a hot chocolate for once instead of a steamer (no caffeine for me right now besides chocolate)....and it turns out I can have their chocolate!!! I had my first hot chocolate of this winter season and never has that tasted so good. I am a happy girl now. :-)

As for the rest of our day, we are busy finalizing paint colors for the new townhome and which washer and dryer we'll be buying tomorrow. We close on FRIDAY!

Here are some things that I love about Greg:
1) He loves the Lord and is dependent upon Him to guide us and teach us
2) He gets up early to help me get out the door on time by making my lunch, taking Buddy out, scraping the car, pouring my cereal, and reminding me of the time.
3) He prays for us every day with powerful and humble prayers.
4) He is an awesome cook!! And he loves to try new things with food. And he knows all the fancy culinary terms. It's cute.
5) He is a great daddy to Buddy. I see glimpses of the care and affection and fun that will eek out when our little one makes his/her debut.
6) He is opinionated and stands up for what he believes.
7) He is such a great planner. He manages our money really well and frees us up to spend, save, and give wisely. He is a budgeting genius!
8) He loves me and encourages me even when my skin looks like a nightmare.
9) He is patient with my quirks.
10) I think he's hot. ;-)
