A Brenda Lee moment

Greg and I affectionately compare me to the character Deputy Chief Brenda Lee Johnson on the TV show The Closer. She is both skillful and Type A at her job and clumsy and forgetful in her life outside the office. I love how much the writers have developed that character.

I'm not as good at my job as she is at hers, but I do get feisty at times and Type A when I know that I am in charge of something. And I like to come across very knowledgeable and pulled together. Unfortunately I can't help being clumsy in everything else!

Today I was heating up my lunch in the break room and talking to 2 ladies in there. Before I could stop it, I had tumped over my tupperware full of fajita meat, onions, peppers, beans, and avacado. Luckily half of it stayed in there so I did still get my lunch, but I was so embarrased. One even asked "How did you manage to do that?" It was all over the counter, floor, and my new shirt. Great.

I watch The Closer and cringe when she does stuff like that and today that was me. I wish I could blame it on pregnancy, but I know that these clumsy days are here to stay. Let's hope our baby girl doesn't get that part of her mama's dna.

:-)
