4 months:
Weight 13 lb 8 oz - 50% (we keep getting higher on this % each time!)
Height 24 1/2 in - 50% (she's been this the whole time)
Head 15 1/2 in - 10% (she's been this the whole time and the doc said that's perfectly ok)
Emily handled her shots really well this time, only crying a little while it was happening. She was asleep in her carseat before I even walked out of the doctor's office and then she slept for 3 hours in her carseat. That was a much needed nap! The only problem with the shots this time is that the nurse we got was a newbie and she really bruised her right thigh with the two shots she got over there. So nursing on the right is really not happening until that leg stops bothering her. I will be requesting our usual nurse from now on- she was much much better with the 2 month shots!
Sleep training has really gone well overall. Thank you, Jesus, for getting me through this initial stage! There are still times when I am confused about how to help her navigate this. I am not always consistent yet about when and whether to go to her. And sometimes her hunger coincides with her drowsiness so I find her falling asleep while nursing. I am really trying hard to break that habit and have a different wind down ritual. So now I don't let her go completely to sleep at least. I make her at least get to the 10 minute mark before she gives up eating and I lay her down in her crib still a little awake. Those are the times when she is most upset. But I would rather feed her and have her be full for her nap than be battling hunger and fatigue at the same time.
This morning I rocked her and sang her a song 3 times, she whimpered a tiny bit in my arms, then I laid her down and she went right to sleep! Not a peep at all!! Woohoo!! It won't always be this way, but the morning nap has been my biggest struggle so far. Yay for a good start to the day. :-)
More to come later...
